Dear Neighbors,

Greetings from the Rancho Almasomos family!

In July 2021, we purchased a 131 acre property along Spring Creek, one mile west of Page Springs and south of East Willow Point Rd.  The property line is shared with a private owner to the northwest, State of AZ public land to the southwest, and Coconino National Forest to the east. We are proposing a Planned Area Development to create a commercial and ecological destination serving local families and visitors, in what is currently zoned RCU-2A. The project is about Biodynamic farm-to-table hospitality, providing spaces for people to convene in and around abundant, healing natural environments.

Our proposal is very low density with the goal of having a minimal disturbance to the land. There will be one full-kitchen Bistro with bar, one Event Barn, two Working Barns, one group-stay home for 8-16 people, a small wellness center, 12 Cottages, three small mixed-use buildings, four small administrative buildings, a playground, and one open air picnic pavilion.  The business will operate year round hosting events and workshops, providing overnight accommodations, providing daily membership access, and hosting seasonal festivities for the local community. The rustic ranch style low profile structures will be nestled in the valley, to conserve the mesa and blend into the surroundings, significantly reducing any unsightly views from neighboring areas. Areas close to the buildings will be landscaped with plants that prevent erosion and introduce shade, irrigated with greywater among other sources. To protect the creek, we plan on utilizing a multifaceted erosion/sedimentation control plan including bioswales to filter, slow, spread, and infiltrate stormwater runoff into the soil. Roads and pathways will be designed to reduce dust and heat.

We will employ approximately 30 full-time staff members. Typically, no more than 20 full-time employees will be on-site at any given time.  We intend to apply for a Series 12 liquor license to sell alcoholic beverages at our on-site bistro and bar.

Your comments, questions, and concerns are of the utmost importance to us and Yavapai County in our efforts to enhance this site. You are invited to call or send us a letter to the address below. On Saturday, October 19th at 2pm, we will be on the property and invite you to come and see the project area and hear from the owner and design team.
